DROP THAT! Potentially dangerous foods if ingested by your pet! |
Milk: Like people, many dogs and cats are lactose-intolerant. Milk can cause diarrhea (trust me, I know…one lick of ice-cream and my dog Kiwi has a butt blow-out). Not a pretty picture. |

Sugarless Gum: Next time you purchase a pack of sugarless gum, take a look at the list of ingrediants. Xylitol is most likely one of the first things you will see. Not only can Xylitol cause human health problems (stomach cramps, stomach pain, diarrhea) it is poisonous to dogs! Grapes or Raisins: Kylie was sad when she heard about grapes and raisins being bad…she loves a good glass of wine (joking, of course). Grapes and raisins have been known to cause kidney failure in both cats and dogs. |
Salt: Unfortunately for Norman (he loves French Fries) salt is known to raise an animal's blood pressure. It also increases the risk of certain types of cancer. Onions or Onion Powder: None of my dogs would touch an onion…even with Norman's mouth, however, they would gladly eat a hamburger that happened to have an onion on it! Onions can cause a dog's red blood cells to rupture which can lead to anemia. |
The items listed below can be harmful if ingested by your dog or cat! Be a smart pet owner and avoid feeding table scraps to your furry, four-legged friend! For more information, please visit the ASPCA Poison Control Website! Woof! |
Spices: Most spices can cause serious stomach upset. Thank goodness Norman is not a fan of the hot pepper! |
