One day, a woman by the name of Holly went to the Pawtucket Animal Shelter looking for
a new kitten. Instead of a kitten, Holly walked out with Tyler, a full grown cat who
desperately needed a forever, loving home. When Holly first saw Tyler, he was thin and
malnourished. In fact, he was so thin; you could clearly see his bones. Tyler must have
sensed that it was his lucky day! He was the only cat in the shelter to approach Holly and
as soon as she picked him up…he began licking her hand! From that second on, Holly
knew that Tyler was the cat for her. Tyler is a wonderful member of Holly’s family. He loves
kids and gets along well with his kitty siblings. To this day, Holly swears that Tyler knows
he was rescued and is very appreciative of his safe and loving home. I’m tempted to say
that Holly is probably right! Many shelter dogs and cats live terrible lives before they are
rescued. They probably can sense when they are finally in a safe and secure environment
and in their own way…are truly thankful! Thank you Holly for rescuing Tyler! We salute you
for giving a homeless kitty a second chance at life!

PS: There is one other member of Holly’s family that should be recognized! One day, while
going to her car, Holly found a guinea pig in the parking lot! Crazy, I know! Who in their
right mind would set a guinea pig free in a parking lot…not to mention a
COLD parking
lot?! Well, you guessed it….the guinea pig has joined Holly’s family and is now in his
forever loving home! His name is Chance and he is a cutie! Holly…you one have a big
heart!

rescued.
