Ingredients: 1 Cup Uncooked oatmeal
1 1/2 Cup Hot meat broth
1 1/2 Cups Low fat shredded cheese
1 Cup Wheat germ
1/4 Cup Margarine
1/2 Cup Powdered milk
4 Cups Whole wheat flour
Directions: Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In large bowl, pour hot broth
over oatmeal and margarine. Let stand for five minutes. Stir
in powdered milk, shredded cheese and egg. Once
combined well, add wheat germ. Add flour one cup at a
time, mixing well after each addition. If necessary, knead
dough to ensure all ingredients are well mixed. Roll dough to
1/4 inch thickness and cut into animal shapes. Place shaped
cookies on a well-greased cookie sheet and bake for one
hour. After one hour, turn off oven and allow cookies to sit for
an additional 30 minutes. Store in an air-tight container.
After one week, freeze cookies.
